Brentford Music Museum & Chiswick House & Gardens, 9 May 2013

This trip was an undoubted success. – Chiswick House was a fascinating rare example of a house built to show off collections of paintings and artifacts gathered on European travels. One of two guides was really excellent, as were the gardens and the caféfor lunch.

The contents of the Brentford music museum were brought to life by a very talented and amusing guide, and his performance on pianos and the Mighty Wurlitzer cinema organ was excellent and recalled many memories of when you used to go to the Childrens Saturday Morning cinema at the Odeon? To see Roy Rodgers, Trigger, Tonto, Laurel and Hardy? , and the best part was to listen to the organist (if your cinema was lucky enough to have one!),  This helped us recall when when Home entertainment and Cinemas were THE entertainment of the day.
