Day trip to Corfe Castle, Dorset (National Trust) built shortly after the Norman conquest of 1066 and home to kings, knights and a princess. Corfe is a picturesque village with several shops and cafes for morning coffee. A five minute walk from the castle to the station, to catch the steam train to Swanage on the Jurassic Coast. Swanage has many good cafes for lunch or fish and chips on the sea front overlooking the beach and Old Harry Rocks.
