A visit to Exbury Gardens in the New Forest, which is more like an arboretum. Included was a tour where Theo, and ex Zimbabwean farmer, one of the head gardeners, brought the gardens and the history of the Rothschilds at Exbury to life, one of the very few people who can make talking about gardens very interesting.
There was plenty to do with multiple gardens, miniature steam railway and cafes to get a bite to eat and have afternoon tea. 30 members attended.
